Membrain Refund & Cancellation Policy (India)

Last updated: 27 Aug 2025. Applies to: Customers in India using Membrain’s website/PWA/mobile-web app for waterproofing & painting services.

This policy is informational and does not constitute legal advice.

1) Quick summary

  • Free: Site Visit & Estimation.
  • Before work starts: Full refund on advances if we haven’t procured materials or booked labor/logistics.
  • After materials are procured / team scheduled: Refund = Amount paid minus actual non-recoverable costs (materials that can’t be returned/tinted items, delivery, platform/payment fees if non-refundable to us).
  • After work has started: Pro-rata refund for the unexecuted portion only; completed work and used materials are non-refundable.
  • After job completion: No refunds. Quality issues are handled under our workmanship/material warranty and rework/rectification process.

2) Definitions

  • Booking/Advance: Amount paid after you approve our quotation to confirm work.
  • Non-recoverable costs: Tinted/colour-matched paints, custom/tint systems, adhesives, primers mixed/issued, items marked non-returnable by suppliers, delivery to site, scaffolding rentals, special tools hired, and any payment gateway/UPI fees that are not returned to us on refund.
  • Work started: Team mobilized and on site, surface prep begun, or materials opened/mixed.

3) Cancellations

3.1 Customer-initiated

  • Before procurement/scheduling: 100% refund of advance.
  • After procurement/scheduling but before work start: Refund = Advance − Non-recoverable costs (see §2).
  • After work start: Refund of the unexecuted portion only. We will provide a pro-rata calculation (see §5).

3.2 Membrain-initiated

If we cancel due to our operational reasons (not caused by you), you receive a 100% refund of all amounts paid for the unexecuted portion.

3.3 Force majeure

If delays/cancellation are due to events beyond control (extreme weather, strikes, govt. orders, etc.), we will reschedule. If you choose to cancel, §3.1 applies.

4) Non-refundable items

  • Tinted/custom-coloured paints or special-order materials once procured.
  • Materials already opened, mixed, or applied.
  • Completed labor/services and site preparation already executed.
  • Scaffolding or equipment rentals already billed.
  • Payment gateway charges only if our payment partner does not return them to us upon refund.

5) Pro-rata & example

  • We calculate refunds transparently:
  • Refund = Amount paid − (Value of work completed + Non-recoverable costs)
  • Example: You paid ₹50,000. Work completed equals ₹18,000 (labor + used materials). Non-recoverable costs (tinted paint + delivery) ₹7,000. Refund = 50,000 − (18,000 + 7,000) = ₹25,000.
  • A detailed breakup will be shared on request.

6) Quality issues & warranty (no cash refunds)

After completion, issues are addressed via rectification/rework under your digital warranty terms (e.g., damp patches, peeling). Cash refunds are not offered post-completion; we fix the problem as per the warranty scope.

7) How to request a cancellation/refund

  • Email support@membrainapp.in (cc help@membrainapp.in) with:
  • Subject: Refund Request – [Booking ID]
  • Include your booking ID, phone number, reason, and any photos if relevant.
  • We will acknowledge within 2 business days and confirm eligibility and the amount within 7 business days.
  • Refund timeline & method: Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days after approval. Bank posting times may vary.
  • GST/Invoices: Where legally required, a credit note will be issued for refunded amounts (exclusive of non-refundable items).

8) Rescheduling

You may reschedule once at no charge if notified ≥24 hours before the scheduled start. Further reschedules or <24-hour notices may incur actual costs (labor call-out, logistics).

9) Abuse & safety

We may refuse service/refund where there is fraud, abuse, safety risk to staff, or violation of our Terms.
